The PA module HVF-1k2 is a modern and powerful power amplifier
module.
A lot of emphasis was put on high quality and comprehensible
measured values.
The HVF-1k2 has in the input the possibility of an optional
15dB attenuator for transceivers of the 100W class to equip, so
the input is insensitive to so-called power peaks.
As additional protection TVS diodes (suppressor diodes) were
inserted before the 4:1 transformer, these protected the
sensitive gates additionally against too high input power.
Optionally, a pre-emphasis is possible. For this purpose, the input path can be adjusted by means of a small inductance so that the low bands are somewhat attenuated and the gain is adjusted somewhat more evenly to all bands.
In order to be able to determine the temperature as well as possible, a digital temperature sensor is installed next to the BLF188XR, a DS18B20, which provides the measured temperature at the connector strip via a one-wire bus.
The operating point stabilization for AB operation was realized classically with a stabilized control loop, which has already proven itself in the HF-1200.
The BIAS voltage can be switched at the connector strip for sending. The NTC for temperature compensation is connected there and the BIAS voltage can be controlled there.
All materials used are carefully selected, Class 1 capacitors in C0G Low ESR and with the necessary current & voltage stability, real 18 Ohm cable for the TLT balun and high quality Teflon coaxial cable for the 1:1 balun in the output.
The board is made in Germany and consists of 135μm copper plating.
