If you already build a standalone SDR TRX, you should consider how good the PC should be. I am of the opinion that the SDR-TRX should replace the complete station PC. Actually, everything speaks for not using another PC for sparking. What is important is a selection of high quality components. On my DP-HDTRX runs really everything, any amateur radio software, office, image processing, development tools, etc.. Another advantage, you need less cables and adapters. Virtual audio cables and a virtual COM port splitter make it very easy to use several programs at the same time.
