Measurements on PA Module HVF-1k2
Unfortunately, there are some OM's who also tinker, but do not
make their results available.
I find this a pity, because for me meaningful measurements
belong to the good tone.
Another advantage is that you can also compare between the
different concepts.
It is interesting to observe how designs are copied. Slightly modified, they are then passed off as their own work in order to earn good money. In general, it is not reprehensible to think outside the box. However, the pure copy-paste without the necessary expertise to have then "celebrate" already very questionable.
The following measurements are currently available:
- VSWR PA Input without attenuator
- IMD3 Measurement
- Output power from 160m - 6m
- Output power in the linear range without compression
- Output power maximum
IMD3 Measurement:
Measurement setup:
Control transmitter > DP-AMP HVF 1k2 > Directional
coupler 40dB > Bird terminator
Measuring device Rohde & Schwarz FSH4
The entire power amplifier was measured, not just the PA module.
IMD3 measurement: 870 W / 700 Hz & 1900 Hz
Two tone test at 1 kW with 1 kHz & 2 kHz
VSWR PA input without attenuator:
Output power from 160 m to 6 m band:
When measuring the output power, the complete power amplifier
including low-pass filter was measured.
This means that the PA module produces a good 10% more power
than is visible here.
It is also the power of the harmonics that would be measured.
As you can see, there is more than enough power available in the linear range!
Output power in the linear range without compression:
These are the max. output powers available per band without 1dB compression.
Maximum output power:
